The aim of the working group is to present the critical success factors of the CMS against the background of an internal and/or external audit and certification of the compliance management system. The focus will be on the established frameworks of IDW PS 980 and the ISO standards. International guidelines will also be included in the discussion. In addition, internal quality assurance measures for the CMS will be examined.

The working group is intended to be a cross-industry platform for exchanging information on current topics relating to internal and external auditing, certification and quality assurance of the CMS, with a focus on:
- Requirements of IDW PS 980
- Requirements of ISO standards, currently ISO 37001, ISO 37301, ISO 37302
- Guidelines in the international context, e.g. of the DoJ
- Internal quality assurance measures on the second and third line of defense

Verena Brandt has been auditing and advising numerous companies on corporate governance issues and all aspects of financial reporting for 30 years. In addition to non-financial / ESG reporting, her current focus is on auditing and advising listed and medium-sized companies on corporate governance systems relating to risk management, compliance management, internal control systems (incl. SOX 404) and internal audit, e.g. professionalization of internal monitoring systems in accordance with FISG, auditing of early risk detection and risk management systems in accordance with IDS PS 340/981 as well as auditing of compliance management systems in accordance with IDW PS 980 and international standards (e.g. ISO 37001, 37301). Dominik Mues is Chief Expert Compliance Management System at Deutsche Bahn AG, having held various management positions in the compliance area. In this role, he is responsible for the further development and quality assurance of the DB Group’s CMS, among other things. As a state-owned company and internationally operating group, DB must meet numerous CMS requirements, which is ensured by internal and external audits.
Previously, Mr. Mues worked in the areas of corporate and capital market law, first in an international law firm and then in the legal department of DB AG. One focus was on corporate governance issues.
