Dr. Reto Batzel
Co-founder of the law firm MARCK
Dr. Reto Batzel is a partner and co-founder of the law firm MARCK in Düsseldorf, which specializes in antitrust law. He advises clients on German and European antitrust law and antitrust-related regulatory law. Before founding MARCK, he worked for METRO AG, from 2017 as head of the antitrust law department. He began his career in 2010 at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in Cologne. Reto Batzel is a member of the German Institute for Compliance (DICO) e.V., the Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht e.Vand the American Bar Association (Antitrust Section).

Kim-Simone Janutta
In-house lawyer at the
Otto Group
Kim-Simone Janutta is since 2019 in-house lawyer with a focus on antitrust law at the Otto Group. Her responsibilities include in particular antitrust compliance, merger control and advice on the various matters of relevance to antitrust law within the Group, such as e-Commercedigital economy, platform economy and logistics. Due to her previous work as a lawyer at Covington & Burling in Brussels, in a Brussels antitrust law boutique and as in-house counsel for compliance at Atlas Elektronik GmbH in Bremen, she contributes international experience from a law firm and corporate perspective. Among other things, she is a member of the Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht e.V. and has also contributed to commentaries on the EU competition law in the transportation sector. ?
