HUMAN RIGHTS IN THE COMPANY
The working group deals with all aspects of human rights in companies and along the value chain.
The working group addresses current developments in the field of human rights. In particular, it follows the legislative activities at Berlin and Brussels levelincluding the LkSGe.g. the transposition of CS3D, CSRD, EUDR, EUFLR into German law . The members meet for this purpose of the working group every six to eight weeks online and twice offline at the company or law firmento discuss best practice examples in companies or with representatives of authorities and ministries.

Michael Wiedmann
Lawyer
As a partner at HWCL, Michael Wiedmann advises companies from various industries on all compliance issues, in particular with regard to sustainability obligations and ethical corporate governance. He supports and advises on the establishment and further development of compliance and risk management systems, whistleblower systems and internal investigations as well as on compliance due diligence and communication with supervisory authorities.
Previously he was various management positions in a large German trading companys company, including as General Counsel, Company Secretary, Chief Representative, Group Director Public Policy and Chief Compliance Officer. He also has experience in the raw materials and automotive industries.

Dr. Oliver Winter
Head of the Center of Competence "Human Rights Compliance" in the BMW Group Compliance Organization
Dr. Oliver Winter is Head of the Center of Competence “Human Rights Compliance” in the BMW Group Compliance Organization. In this function, he is responsible for the conception and implementation of human rights due diligence processes within the BMW Group , its sales organization and other business partners. In addition, it coordinates cooperation with other departments involved in the due diligence process, such as the sustainability strategy or sustainability in purchasing, in order to ensure uniform human rights management across the entire value chain.
After completing his studies and doctorate in business administration with a focus on finance and accounting, Dr. Winter initially worked for KPMG Consulting GmbH before moving to the BMW Group’s Corporate Audit department in 1999. Stints abroad took him to the USA as Head of Corporate Audit Americas and to Russia as Chief Financial Officer for BMW Russia Trading OOO. Since 2011, Dr. Winter has been working in various areas of responsibility in the Compliance Organization of the BMW Group and is responsible for the central implementation of requirements in the area of
