Dr. Anna-Maija Mertens
Full-time board member
Dr. Anna-Maija Mertens has been a full-time board member at DICO since April 2024. From 2014 to March 2024, Dr. Mertens was Managing Director of the anti-corruption organization Transparency International Deutschland e.V., having previously worked as Director of the Finnish Institute in Germany as a political scientist with a doctorate. In her previous activities, Dr. Mertens was particularly involved in innovation management, both in a management consultancy in Bonn and at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster. Dr. Mertens’ academic work focuses on institutionalism and the legitimacy of political decision-making. She teaches German and international courses at the Berlin School of Economics and Law and at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt.

Dr. Marie von der groeben

Dr. Marie v. der Groeben has been Chief Compliance Officer at Deutsche Telekom since November 2021. Previously, the fully qualified lawyer had already worked for more than 10 years in leading compliance functions in other companies – from 2018 to 2021 as Head of GRC Compliance at TRATON SE and from 2011 to 2017 as Head of Compliance Awareness & Prevention at MAN SE. Before moving to industry, Ms. von der Groeben worked for several years as a lawyer in the corporate litigation department of the international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (2004 – 2010). Ms. von der Groeben has been involved with DICO for many years. She was initially a member of the Training and Further Education working group; in 2019, she then initiated the Policy Management working group, which she chaired together with Katrin Löffler until 2021.

Dr. christoph klahold

Christoph Klahold has been Chief Compliance Officer of the BMW Group since January 1, 2021. Previously, he was General Counsel and Group Chief Compliance Officer of the insurance group Munich Re until July 2020 and Chief Compliance Officer of the Essen-based industrial group thyssenkrupp from 2012-2018, whose values-based global compliance program he played a key role in shaping and implementing after dealing with a number of high-profile compliance cases.
From October-December 2020, he worked as a Senior Advisor for the management consultancy Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and contributed his many years of practical experience in setting up and implementing compliance programs to strategy consulting across all industries. Christoph Klahold is a member of the advisory board of the trade journal CCZ and has published various articles and specialist papers on the topics of compliance and corporate governance. In 2014, he was nominated for “Corporate Counsel of the Year” in the annual Global Competition Review (GCR) awards.

Markus Bamberger
CCO of Robert Bosch GmbH
Markus Bamberger is a lawyer and has been Head of Group-wide Compliance Management at Robert Bosch GmbH since April 2019. As Chief Compliance Officer, he reports directly to the Board of Management. Since 2020, he has also been responsible for information security and data protection at Bosch. Before joining Bosch, Markus Bamberger most recently worked for the Merck Group as Group Compliance Officer and later also as Head of Global Data Protection Management.
Prior to that, he spent 20 years at Merck in various functions and gained business experience both in the chemicals sector and as Managing Director in Indonesia. He rounded off his professional experience with responsible functions in central departments (Environmental Protection, Regulatory and Legal). Markus Bamberger holds an MBA from Ashridge Management College in cooperation with London University.

Eva Bergmann

Eva Bergmann has extensive expertise in governance, risk and compliance with more than 15 years of professional experience both in consulting and at major international companies. Her focus is on analyzing compliance risks, developing and implementing governance and control structures, compliance management systems and risk management. She worked for Bertelsmann in New York and for KPMG in Munich and Melbourne. She is currently Director of Global Claims Management at Munich Re, where she is developing and implementing a governance and monitoring system. From October 1, she will take over as Head of Non-Financial Risk Management at a Munich Re subsidiary.
After ten years of active membership, she took over as head of the Compliance Risk Analysis working group five years ago. She is also a member of the editorial board of the Beck-Verlag corporate compliance journal.

Markus Jüttner
Partner at Earnst & Young GmbH
Markus Jüttner has been a partner in the Forensic & Integrity Services department at EY since June 2022. He advises organizations on compliance, culture and integrity issues. Previously, he was Vice President of Compliance at DAX-listed E.ON for over seven years. He began his career at Clifford Chance, later becoming Senior Legal Counsel at EnBW and then Head of the Antitrust and Competition Law Department at Ruhrgas AG. Mr. Jüttner is also a lecturer in organizational sociology at the University of Heidelberg and in international personnel management and organization at the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences. Within DICO, he is not only a member of the board but also head of the “Behavioral Compliance & Ethics” working group.

Dr. Philip Matthey, LL.M.
Partner at Hogan Lovells
Dr. Philip Matthey, LL.M. is a partner at Hogan Lovells in Munich. Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Philip Matthey was Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance/Chief Compliance Officer at TRATON Group, where he was responsible for the compliance program to combat corruption, money laundering, antitrust law and human rights violations as well as risk management and the internal control system. During this time, he was responsible for the corporate support of various complex regulatory proceedings, including the EU Commission’s antitrust proceedings against several commercial vehicle manufacturers. Prior to that, he was Compliance Officer at ThyssenKrupp AG. He began his professional career at international law firms in Cologne and Brussels in the areas of antitrust law and M&A.

Nina Stoeckel, LL.M.
Head of the Ethics & Compliance Team at Boehringer Ingelheim
Nina Stoeckel, LL.M. has been leading the global Ethics & Compliance team at Boehringer Ingelheim since 01.01.2023 with a focus on a risk-based and integrated compliance program for the Human Pharma and Veterinary Medicine divisions. Previously, she built up the Group Legal & Compliance Operations department at Merck KGaA from 2019 – 2022 and drove innovation in the legal department. Another station at Merck was the Global Compliance Program & Support and Nina Stoeckel worked as Compliance Officer for Boehringer Ingelheim in Germany and in the Corporate Strategy & Development department from 2008 – 2014. She began her professional career as an in-house lawyer and project manager at a legal publishing house of the Süddeutsche Verlagsgruppe. Nina Stoeckel is involved in the Liquid Legal Institute and the BUJ and appears as a speaker.
