- Definition of the middle class and in particular thereby the question: Why and on what basis should a compliance management system be introduced at all? How much control is needed or internal control system (ICS) / risk management system versus existing culture of trust?
- Development of risk classes (identification and assessment of compliance risks with special consideration of risk-sensitive areas such as corruption, data protection, Cybersecurity, AI, Public procurement law, occupational safety and Environmental protectionESG and sustainability topics).
- Definition of minimum requirements for a compliance management system (What is appropriate? What is already in place and is it sufficient? What standard do SMEs need? Do certificates make sense?)
- How can SMEs be connected to a compliance network and are the experiences and findings of large companies helpful for SMEs?

Kerstin Euhus
Management consultant
Kerstin Euhus holds a degree in engineering and has over 30 years of strategic management and leadership experience in the medium-sized energy and utilities industry. She was Chief Compliance Officer at Berliner Wasserbetriebe for over 12 years and headed the Compliance Management department. In this role, she was also responsible for the quality management system and was BWB’s human rights officer.
She is a certified complianceauditor and has extensive knowledge of the interpretation and implementation of ISO management system standards in companies.
Since August 2023, Kerstin Euhus has been self-employed as a management consultant and can pass on her accumulated expertise.

Dr. Kathrin J. Niewiarra

Dr. Kathrin J. Niewiarra is a lawyer and Attorney-at-Law (NY). After several years as a lawyer in the USA and Germany and 13 years of top management and board functions in corporations, she has been pursuing her business idea of holistic corporate compliance consulting under her brand since September 2012 bleu&orange® – including 11 years as an ombudswoman. She also acts as an interim manager, moderator, speaker and advisory board member. She is part of the team of experts for the “Qualified Supervisory Board” training courses at Management Alliance GmbH (certified by Deutsche Börse AG).
She is the founder and managing director of the Compliance Channel, a web TV channel focusing on ethics and compliance. She is also co-founder and partner of ESG Powerhouse, a competence hub for sustainability that takes a holistic view of economic, ecological and social challenges and uses this approach as a partner and catalyst for sustainable strategies in SMEs.
