DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
The dynamics of technological development are rapid, fundamental and almost all-encompassing. Technology is changing people’s lives as well as the business world of companies. It is changing production methods, sales structures and entire business models. No sector of the economy remains unaffected by technological change, although the intensity of the changes varies from sector to sector. This change is increasingly characterized by digitalization and affects companies’ compliance and governance issues from the outset. It is not only important to identify and understand the risks arising from digitalization, but also the opportunities for those responsible for compliance to identify and implement issues at an early stage as a result of the digital transformation.
The “Digital Transformation and Compliance” working group is primarily intended to serve as a source of ideas and trend scout for digital compliance topics. The focus here will be on the further professionalization of those responsible for compliance on digital topics in the context of prevention, detection and response, as well as the timely identification and discussion of digitalization trends in the corporate world.
The role relationships between the compliance officer and key roles in this context, such as the Chief Information Security Officer, will also need to be evaluated and, if necessary, sharpened. Key organizational issues will also need to be examined, such as the question of the ideal compliance organization in a digital world, taking into account the issues of data protection, data security, IT compliance and cybercrime.
