DICO – Deutsches Institut für Compliance e.V. – welcomes today’s decision by the Bundestag on the Bureaucracy Relief Act IV, but calls for further measures
DICO welcomes the Bundestag’s decision and the German government’s efforts to reduce bureaucracy and thus relieve the burden on business, administration and citizens.
This is because the amount of legal regulations, the high level of detail and the frequent lack of coherence between different laws cause high workloads and make meaningful implementation difficult. More and more regulations do not lead to more or better compliance; on the contrary, they lead to the meaningfulness of regulations as a whole being called into question. If the impression is created that it is hopeless to be able to fulfill all legal requirements, violations of the law are quickly viewed as legitimate. The result is an increase in compliance risks.
DICO supports the Bureaucracy Reduction Act as a sensible measure to reduce bureaucracy and excessive regulation and hopes for comparable initiatives at European level.
Federal Minister of Justice Dr. Marco Buschmann, who wants to continue to drive forward the reduction of bureaucracy, will be the keynote speaker at our DICOFORUM next week. We look forward to discussing this and other topics with him in greater depth.
